Why Ebonyi House of Assembly's Speaker was removed

The speaker of Ebonyi House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chukwuman Nwazunku has been removed from office two times this year. The first removal was July 2014 when the member of Ebonyi House of Assembly impeached him but Governor Martins Elechi led PDP stakeholder to resist the  action and the woman who was elected to replace him was force to step down.

Now the tune and tone of Mr. Governor has changed as Chukwuma Nwazunku was allegedly changed camp to side those against the 2015 consensus gubernatorial candidate of Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu adopted by the governor and his associates in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. The impeachment of the speaker on Monday November 10, 2014 was the second time he would be removed from office. This impeachment was described as done in order to put a round peg in a round hole.

Chukwuma was also accused by the House of gross misconduct, corruption and large scale embezzlement of funds meant for members and staff of the State House of Assembly in which he had moved ahead of them by suspending two members he believed were in the forefront of the move against him. Governor Elechi stated that the House has the right to change the leadership whenever it deemed necessary and nobody can impose a leadership on the House when members are not in support of it.
